“It’s mashed potatoes and green bean casserole and cranberry sauce,” Dan said, glancing over the list. All this talk of food had made him quite hungry, hence he let out a slight growl.

She pretended she didn’t hear the growl and kept walking, occasionally pulling stuff off the shelves and dumping it in the cart. They filled up most of the cart but they were only halfway down the list.

The morning after the Full Moon

Dan lay stomach down on the bed, every muscle and bone in his body screaming in pain. All he could do was sometimes mutter to himself and try to avoid rolling over.

“…J… Jules?” Dan called out.

She was in the living room watching the news when she heard him, setting the bowl of popcorn on the coffee table and going in. “Still hurts huh?” Jules asked, thankful that she didn’t have to go through that anymore now that she didn’t need to. Gingerly she sat on the edge of the bed next to him and gently trailed her fingers through his hair.
